Chris Paul has his own Jordan Brand signature three years running, but even if you had the same sweet deal, you’d want your share of Air Jordan PEs, right?! Here’s an example of how amazing it can be, signed to JB, an Air Jordan XII PE with CP3’s name literally written all over it. Somehow LeBron James’ free agency has basketball columnists, experts, analysts, and everyday fans talking about something else than the competitive and entertaining NBA Finals that’s going down as we speak. Where LeBron ends up next season could possibly change the next decade of NBA basketball and can turn an entire city upside down (or right side up). THE SHOE CARPET: Carmelo Anthony, Fat Joe,Cassie,& more!
The 53rd Annual Puerto Rican Day Parade was held in New York City this past Sunday and amongst the various celebrites that came out and celebrated with the thousands of onlookers were Denver Nuggets’ Forward Carmelo Anthony, Fat Joe, Joell Ortiz, Diddy, Fabolous, Cassie, and more. While the event looked like it was a ton of fun we here at Sneaker News were focused more on what these celebrities were rocking on their feet. Carmelo Anthony, whose half Puerto Rican, came out rocking a pair of the White and Varsity Red Air Jordan VI Retro’s. Fat Joe kept it icy with a pair of the Nike x Futura Air Force 1 High Supreme’s. Joell Ortiz on the other hand was seen rocking the “Infared” Air Jordan Spiz’ikes. And last but not least, Cassie was seen with a pair of the Christian Louboutin all over stud sneakers on.
Could Drake's Thank Me Later Sell A Million In Its First Week?
It's a benchmark in hip-hop that only two MCs have ever realized: selling 1 million album units during an opening release week.
Eminem achieved the feat — with his second and third albums, The Marshall Mathers LP and The Eminem Show, respectively — and in 2008, Lil Wayne joined the exclusive club as he pushed seven-digits worth of his sixth set, Tha Carter III, an act that cemented his ascent to super-stardom.
Kanye West came close with his third collection, Graduation, but stalled just short of the platinum plateau. And 50 Cent is the only debuting rapper who ever came anywhere near the mark when he pushed more than 800,000 copies of Get Rich or Die Tryin'.
Now, on the verge of releasing his major label debut, Thank Me Later, many are wondering whether Drake — last year's mixtape wunderkind — can deliver on all of the hype to become only the third rapper to break the one-million mark in first week sales.
"I always said that his setup was so impeccable, so crazy, that I just thought he would get really close to 1 million," Vibe magazine editor-in-chief Jermaine Hall told MTV News. "The one thing he needed was that big record and I don't think he was able to get his 'Lollipop' out the gate," he said referring to Wayne's breakout Carter III single. "But still, I think the setup is incredible and I expect him to sell 500,000 to 600,000 the first week."
While "Find Your Love" is a favorite among Drake's fans, the Kanye West-produced single has yet to crack the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The melodic track followed Drake's first official single from Thank Me Later, the brooding "Over," an unconventional ode to the paranoia fame can bring; not an especially traditional pair of singles for an upstart rapper.
Also, Thank Me Later, while highly anticipated, is just the latest offering from Drake, who has released a string of records post-So Far Gone, from "Fear" to Forever." Add to that the fact that his album leaked online well ahead of its June 15 release date.
"Obviously, it's 2010, it's not 2003 anymore and the industry has changed a lot and I think everyone has sort of had to trim their expectations because of that," Entertainment Weekly's Simon Vozick-Levinson said. "That's not something that reflects on Drake personally, it's just that it's hard to sell records. To look at some more recent examples of people who have sold more than 500,000 [in a week], Sade did that, Eminem, last year, did about 600,000. These are artists who were gone for a while that had big fan bases waiting for an album to come out. Drake is at a different place in his career."
The EW scribe also said he believed Drake would not cross the one-million mark, instead predicting sales of 300,000 to 400,000 copies of his debut.
XXL's Bonsu Thompson shared the same sentiments, predicting 400,000-plus sales; he noted Drake's achievements and emphasized the rapper's long-term potential, even as he drew the line below gold certification and well below platinum.
"I don't think Drake will do a million his first week," Thompson said. "First, you have to compare it to the rapper who did achieve that, that was Lil Wayne. You have to look at all the elements that contributed to him selling 1 million in the first week. I don't think [Drake] has that smash single. The girls like 'Find Your Love' and the guys dig 'Over,' but it's not like that smash crossover, where everyone is in a state of panic and we have to have this album right now."
Much like box office tallies, first-week sales in music make for splashy headlines, yet ultimately a blockbuster's health is measured not by the opening haul but by how strong the project fends off sharp dips and maintains a steady stream of revenue.
A true star's worth may lie in his ability to avoid the dreaded second-week dive. That's the theory the New York Times' Jon Caramanica subscribes to, noting Drake's own goal may not be realized via those first-week sales. Instead, he noted Drake's ambitious plans, outlining how the rapper's sales down the road may be a better indicator of the impact of his debut.
"I think the real question for Drake is what are his fifth-week numbers, what are his 10th-week numbers, what are his 20th-week numbers, if he still pops in July, in August, in September, then that's a win," Caramanica told MTV News. "Then it doesn't matter if he sells a million the first week. But if he's gonna last, that's the thing, that's a Kanye, that's a Wayne, that's a Jay. And I think ultimately, that's the guy he wants to be considered as. I don't think anyone should get bent out of shape. They should get bent out of shape if he only sells two [copies]."

Today he posted a video clip of his ’sneaker room’ and in showing us how clean it was its hard not to pause and drool everytime you glimpse some heat.
Air Jordan 9 White/Citrus-Deep Forest
Although the base is primarily colored in white, notice the two-textured construction it possesses. White leather smothers the majority of the base while a patent leather strip completely covers the bottom half of the sneaker. This Air Jordan 9 is also offset by deep forest/citrus accents such as the Jumpman branding on the heel/sole and the laces which also possess a repeating ‘Jordan’ script in black.

Jordan Brand will only release 1,331 pairs at select retailers worldwide; therefore, you will have to do some sole searching to find these Air Jordan 9s. As for the design cues, this Air Jordan 9 combines white premium leather and gold, glossy nubuck on the base while also incorporating the red Bin 23 stamp on the lateral side. It is finished with a gold midsole and a white outsole with Jordan branding appearing on the tongue, insole, heel among other places. Lastly, this limited sneaker will come in a nice sneaker bag along with some highly-detailed shoe trees.

LEGAL WOES: Kid Cudi ARRESTED!+Nicki Minaj SUED!
And Nicki Minaj was just sued today in L.A. Superior court over her rented Lambo. Apparently that pink Lamborghini she used in her "Massive Attack" video didn't come back in the same condition that she took it out. More deets when you read on...

Did Wayne forget to pay the bills before he went into lock up? Nicki owes 12 stacks to the car rental company she got her pink Lambo from to shoot a vid with. Here's why according to TMZ:
The plaintiff, Hollywood Exotic Car Rental, claims Minaj agreed to rent a 2008 Lamborghini Murcielago -- at the rate of $1,750 a day -- to shoot her "Massive Attack" music video. But according to the suit -- filed [Friday] in L.A. County Superior Court -- the exotic car was driven "off-road" and damaged "in the approximate amount of $11,589.41."
Plus, they allege, Minaj didn't pay three days rent on the car -- that's another 5,250.
Chick's being sued with unpaid rental charges, property damage, and punitive damage. Roger that.
Meanwhile, Kid Cudi is in hot water himself. TMZ reports:
Kid Cudi was arrested in NYC [Friday] for felony criminal mischief and possession of a controlled substance.
Sources say Kid took a 24-year-old woman's phone and slammed it to smithereens.
He also allegedly broke the door of her apartment off its hinges. Cops arrived and found a glass bottle of a controlled substance.
Awww damn. That's that bullsh*t Cudi.

Rapper Gucci Mane, who just returned from his stint in jail, was seen on the set of his new video for the single “Everybody Looking” off of the Burrrprint 2HD mixtape in a Louis Vuitton Monogram Scuba Visor ($290) in rose pink. The pink neoprene visor is from the Louis Vuitton Cruise Spring/Summer 2009 collection and is also available in black. I must commend Gucci Mane because never in my right mind could I imagine this working, but (even though I will regret saying this)…it works for him. Lil Kim Ready To Beef With Nicki Minaja:"I'ma Bite You'
The feud between rappers Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj intensified last night (June 10th), when Lil Kim made a surprise appearance at a local Detroit club to address the matter.Lil Kim performed a variety of her hits during a show at a club named Blondie’s when she addressed Nicki Minaj, whom she claims has ripped off her style.
With the help of a back up dancer, Lil Kim put on a blonde bob-weave.
“Yall know where this came from. I love when people copy me, that’s a compliment. But when you bust shots at me and throw pebbles at me like as if I don’t even exist and you don’t see me standing here, I’ma bite you. I’ma bite you,” Lil Kim promised, before launching into her hit single “Crush on You.”
In published interviews, Lil Kim has denied being the aggressor in the escalating war of words between herself and Nicki Minaj, who is now being managed by Kim’s former mentor, Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Lil Kim claims that Nicki Minaj has been taking subliminal shots at her over the last year, during interviews and on various records.
She also took issue with Nicki Minaj remaking her famous posters promoting her album Hard Core in addition to rhyming over Lil Kim’s songs, early in her career.
Additionally, in an interview with Thisis50.com, Lil Kim pointed to a tweet where Nicki Minaj said "f**k all the Lil Kim fans."
Nicki Minaj’s label mate Drake recently took up for her during an interview with MTV earlier this week.
"Lil' Kim is a G in the game. She's part of an era that's classic, that we'll never forget as young kids, me and Nicki,” Drake said, adding that he didn’t respect Lil Kim’s “beef” approach to her issue with Nicki Minaj.
Lil Kim shot down Drake’s explanation, pointing to Nicki Minaj’s unprovoked insults, in addition to a backstage incident in which she slighted the rapper, similar to an incident involving Hip-Hop legend Eric B.

“I don’t go off for no f**king reason, aight,” Lil Kim told the crowd. “If I go off, it’s a reason behind it. I spread love and I love my ladies. And I love for us to get along in the game. In related news, Lil Kim was recently named the spokes model for the Purple label 3 Olive Vodka and is part of the “Purple” advertising campaign.

Louis Stewart: The man behind the man
If you haven’t heard of him already, Louis Stewart is a bag designer who has been creating a buzz on the streetsStewart worked for Louis Vuitton and left the company to launch his own custom bag company. While working for such a powerful man in the fashion industry was probably a great experience, I’m sure many people are glad he is using his creative vision for his own collection. His work has been raving in the streets for the past year now and has his pieces have been spotted across the fashion and Hip Hop scenes.
